China receives a ton of international visitors each year. The number of visitors traveling to China is only expected to increase, as the country continues to modernize and open up its doors to international travelers. With a vast territory and a long history, China offers so much to see and explore. Top-tier attractions in the country include the the Great Wall of China in Beijing, The Terracotta Army in Xi'an, The Forbidden City of Beijing, The Li River in Guilin, The Yellow Mountains, The Potala Palace in Lhasa, The Bund, Shaighai International Architecture, Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong and West Lake in Hangzhou.
2. Malaysia
The entry point for most visitors of Malaysia is the international airport at Kuala Lumpur, a city known for the Petronas Twin Towers and its excellent shopping. But Malaysia has so much more to offer visitors than just a city. For instance, some of the world’s best scuba diving can be found in Sipadan off the coast of Borneo Malaysia, while the islands near the Malaysian Peninsula like Tioman and Langkawi are some of the best beach destinations in Asia. Top tourist destinations Gunung Mulu National Park, Perhentian Islands, Langkawi, Mount Kinabalu, Pulau Tioman, Bako National Park, Taman Negara, Georgetown Inner City located in Penang Island and Cameron Highlands.
3. Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s numbers are inflated by visitors from neighboring Mainland China who come to Hong Kong in droves to buy luxury goods from its shopping malls and to take advantage of its status as a free port – no sales tax and no import tariffs. Top tourist spots are Avenue of Stars, The Peak, Ocean Park, Hong Kong Disney Land, Ladies Market (with over 100 stalls), Temple Street Night Market, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (and Golden Bauhinia Square), Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple and Clock Tower.
4. Thailand
Thailand, also known as the Land of Smiles, is a jewel of Southeast Asia. Developed enough to provide most comforts yet still wild enough to offer off-the-beaten path adventure, Thailand is a country ripe with opportunity for once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences. Cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai are bustling hives of activity and commerce, but you haven't really seen the country until you've trekked in the mountains or enjoyed some face-time with elephants or the bold monkeys. Thailand's attractions are diverse and each provides a rewarding and memorable experience in its own way. Top 10 most visited destinations are Railey Beach, Koh Phi Phi, The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Sunday Walking Street in Chiang Mai, Pai, Khao Yai National Park, Sukhothai Old City, Historic City of Ayutthaya, Doi Suthep and Floating Markets.
5. Macau
Macau is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China. The reason it’s not bundled together with China or Hong Kong according to World Bank statistics is because Macau retains control over its own borders, like Hong Kong, and grants visa-free entry to over 60 nationalities. Travelers' visit Macau because it’s the world’s leading gambling center, having surpassed even Las Vegas in gambling receipts and historical attractions. Top tourist spots of Macau are Ruins of St. paul, Senado Square, Venetian Macau, A Ma Temple, Fisherman's Wharf, Macau Tower, Kun Iam Statue, Wine & Grand Pix Museum, St. Lawrence Church, Cotai Strip and City of Dreams.
